The Two Main Requirements to Join The
Prison Service:
- you must be at least 18 years old
- you must also be a British citizen or
an EU national
This means that you do not need any
specific formal qualifications to join the prison service and this role is
open to the majority of people. There are also no gender restrictions so
both men and women can apply making this a very desirable job
